SAM - A new member of the Beta product family As you may already know, Beta Systems took over the operating business of SYSTOR Security Solutions GmbH in Cologne, a subsidiary of the bankrupt Systor AG, Zurich, company on February 11th 2003. The contract includes acquisition of all rights to the Security Administration Manager (SAM) product line, its customer and service contracts, and the acquisition of about 80 employees in the development, sales and marketing, and services divisions in Cologne and Washington D.C. We would now like to briefly acquaint you with our new product, SAM: SAM is used by a number of large corporations in Germany, Europe, and North America for the central and system-wide administration of user rights. SAM administers user accounts and access rights automatically. The system enables over 90% of security administration tasks to be automated, ensuring that users' function-specific and task-specific access rights are always available. More than 100.000 user accounts can be handled simultaneously, and RACF, NT and Unix security systems, as well as applications and database systems security functions, are supported. Connection is made via target system agents (Target System Interfaces) Standard agents can also be used for making connections with, among others: - Operating systems (e.g. Unix, OS/400, Windows, z/OS via RACF, Top Secret, ACF/2) - Databases (e.g. Oracle, DB/2), or also - Applications (e.g. SAP R/3) Administrative operations in SAM lead to updates in the target system and SAM is also informed of any changes to rights in the target systems, enabling the security procedures to be monitored and enforced. Beta 88 V3R4 – French language support A new Beta 88 product tape was released on 14.3.2003: V3R4, PTF-Stand PSB6205. Beta 88 V3R4 also now supports the French language. With the release of this tape, the Beta 88 zSecurity Auditor V3R4 (GUI) of 14.3.2003 is also now available with a French user interface The tape will be sent out only on request and is of interest only to French customers and new V3R4 customers. Customers who already have the V3R4 NEW tape of September 2002 won't need the new tape. A direct link: SAP R/3 und Beta 93 – SAP Input This new VIDiDOC Suite module will be of interest to all customers who read SAP R/3 spool output into Beta 93 (MVS) by EDF (Extended Input) for further processing, or intend to do this. Up until now, you could only transfer values for form, extension or job name via the "indirect route" of an R/3 banner page. EDF required a definition for where the values were to be scanned out again, then the banner page was deleted again using a report in Beta 93. Sounds difficult? It is. With SAP Input, there is now a much more elegant, and also SAP-certified link between SAP R/3 and Beta 93. Beta 93 can be directly set up via SAP Input as an output management system (connection type E) in R/3. R/3 print parameters can then be directly transferred as parameter lists, and values such as form, extension, owner etc. transferred to Beta 93. Direct call has several advantages: - avoiding the line printer spooler interface means an R/3 banner page is no longer needed - the spool request only gets the status "printed" in R/3 once the list has also really arrived in Beta 93, and - you can easily read in PCL or PostScript from R/3 SAP Input is available for - Windows NT (from 4.0 SP 4 or higher) - Linux (from 2.2.19 Kern or higher) - Solaris (from version 8 or higher) and - AIX (from version 4.3.3 or higher) If you are interested in this solution, please contact your sales representative. Further details about the Exeter Northcott Theatre and its current season can be found on our website www.exeternorthcott.co.uk Job Description Technical Stage Manager Exeter Northcott Theatre Purpose of Post The Technical Stage Manager position will be part of a team responsible for delivering the technical elements of performances at the Northcott Theatre as well as setting up lectures hosted by the theatre. The role is mainly based around that of a normal TSM's responsibilities but may also include operating basic Lighting, Sound and AV equipment. The TSM will also Duty Stage Manager touring in shows as well as work within a stage management department for produced shows where required. Department: Technical Responsible to: Technical Manager Duties & Responsibilities 1. Be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all scenic production elements including installation equipment specific to show running. 2. Operate flying and scenery equipment during performances and rehearsals where required. 3. Duty Stage Manage where required for both visiting companies and in-house productions. 4. Liaise and coordinate with the touring companies Production Manager and TSM / Carpenter during fitups and get outs. 5. Manage and supervise Stage Management and Construction teams for in-house productions, coproduced shows and visiting company productions where required. 6.
