We are now retiring older versions of Skype and it appears that you’re currently using one of these. To continue signing into Skype on your desktop you'll need to download to the latest version. The new version comes with improved performance and the latest features and security updates, so you'll get the best possible Skype experience.

How to manually update your desktop version
To download the latest version from Skype's website, simply type 'skype.com' into the address bar of your web browser and follow these steps:

1. Go to skype.com > Downloads tab > Computer
2. Download the latest version by clicking Get Skype for Windows desktop or Get Skype for Mac
3. Sign into Skype
Forgot your Skype Name or password?
If you have a Skype Name: retrieve your Skype Name or reset your password.

If you have a Microsoft Account: reset your Microsoft Account password.
